One Event that altered the course of Humanity

  

     Imagine a world turned upside down. A leader, Jesus Christ, revered and followed, is brutally executed in the most brutal of ways. Hope seems extinguished. Fear grips those who were closest, his disciples, their dreams shattered. This isn't a fictional drama; it's a historical moment that forever altered the course of humanity.

    Think about it: what if everything you believed, everything you placed your trust in, rested on a single, pivotal event? That's the core of the Christian faith, a belief system that has resonated through centuries. It's the idea that Jesus Christ, declared dead, defied the very laws of nature and returned to life—his resurrection. 

    Now, picture those closest to him, his disciples. They were terrified. They were convinced their own lives were in danger. They were broken and in great despair. They certainly weren't expecting a resurrection, even though Jesus had told them it would happen. Even after the event, it took some time for the reality to sink in. But when it did, boy their lives were irrevocably changed and not just their lives, but the lives of countless others as well. 

    Here's the stunning part: these individuals, once filled with doubt and fear, became unwavering champions of this truth. They faced persecution, torture, and death, yet they refused to recant their testimony of Jesus's resurrection. Why? Because they had witnessed something extraordinary. They had seen the impossible become reality. They could not deny this one truth, even if it cost them their lives. 

    Consider this: if their claims were false, wouldn't it have been easy to disprove them? A simple visit to the tomb, a display of the body, and the entire movement built on Jesus Christ would have collapsed. But that didn't happen. Why? Because the tomb was empty. Jesus Christ had risen. As impossible as it sounds no has ever disproved this truth. Those closest to Jesus, not only believed this one truth, but all of them suffered and all but one had died because of this very truth. 

    Henry Morris put it powerfully: "The bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ...is the crowning proof of Christianity. If the resurrection did not take place, then Christianity is a false religion. If it did take place, then Christ is God and the Christian faith is absolute truth."  Wow! 

    This isn't just an abstract concept. It's a truth that has brought hope and comfort to countless individuals throughout history. Take the story of the soldier at the battle of Inkerman in 1854. Struck down, he crawled to his tent, his Bible open, his hand glued to the pages by his own blood. The verse he clung to? "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26).  

    In his final moments, this soldier found solace in the promise of life beyond death, a promise made possible by the very resurrection of Jesus Christ. It truly one event that altered the course of Humanity.

Living the Resurrection Reality

    This truth isn't meant to be confined to historical records or theological debates. It's meant to transform our lives here and now. So, how can we apply this powerful message?

1. Embrace Hope in the Face of Adversity: Life throws curveballs. We face setbacks, disappointments, and even tragedy. But the message of the resurrection reminds us that death is not the end. Just as that soldier found hope in his final moments, we can find strength in the promise of a future beyond our current circumstances. When you face a seemingly impossible situation, remember that the impossible has already happened. Place your faith in the one who overcame death! 
2. Live with Courage: The disciples' transformation from fear to boldness is a powerful example. They faced persecution because they believed in something greater than themselves. They unwaveringly shared the good news to all who they could, even if it cost them there lives. They overcame there fears and worries, to boldly share the gospel that the whole world may hear the gospel. 
3. Find Comfort in Loss: Grief is a universal experience. But the message of the resurrection offers comfort in the face of loss. It reminds us that death is not a permanent separation. We can find peace in the knowledge that those who believe will live again. When you lose someone dear, remember that the promise of life is stronger than the sting of death. 
4. Examine your own beliefs: Take time to research and investigate for yourself. Don't take what you hear at face value. Seek out historical and theological evidence. A strong belief is one that can withstand scrutiny. Ask hard questions and seek out truthful answers. 
5. Put Your faith in the Nail Scared Hands of Jesus Christ. The reason why Jesus died was he died for you and me. He died for our sins, so that we could have a relationship with God.
